I finally got my gadget-loving hands on the Pantech C810 (after visiting several at&t stores, several times). What are my impressions now that I've been using it for a day and a half? Well, WM6 does improve in some areas over WM5, like being able to delete emails easily, and setting up email accounts. The phone also seems snappy and the HSDPA is fast (thanks at&t!). The phone did die after 8 hours of very light use, but it must be that it needs to be charge-cycled a couple of times before I can really measure its true battery life. View the video after the jump.

This is what is found in the box (for those of you too lazy to watch the video).

  • The phone )naturally
  • a 1200 maH battery
  • wall charger
  • USB cable
  • 3.5mm adapter
  • Quick Guide/Manuals
  • 30-day trial of Outlook 2007 CD (which is surprising because they usually bundle the full version of Outlook)

The phone also slides open the QWERTY keypad easily, maybe too easily, it slid open a couple times in my back pocket. Maybe adding a bit more of stiffness to the spring or mechanism that open the keypad would've been ideal. The QWERTY keypad is easy to type on and the don't make you jump thru hoops to type a special character or a number. The 1.3 MP camera is ok, we all know that cell phone cameras suck anyway (no matter how many MP). One thing I did not like at all was the cover for the connector at the bottom; I am not exited about the idea of having that piece of plastic dangling when I'm charging the phone, eventually it will break off.

Overall, I've been happy with the device, its small (maybe a bit thicker than I imagined it to be), the voice quality is superb and WM6 is a refreshing experience in some areas. I will be posting a full review of the phone in about a week.
