Well…after so many rumored launch dates, at&t has finally released the mother of all smart-phones, the HTC 8925 or the Tilt. Available now (Octuber 5th) for $300 with a 2 year contract.

Lets go over its features once more:

  • Tilting keyboard (hence the name)
  • Windows Mobile 6 Pro
  • Wifi, 3.5 G, Bluetooth 2.0, GPS!
  • 3 MP Camera

More pictures, you ask? OK…

I’m a bit disappointed at the phone after reading Gizmodo’s Review of the Tilt; even though it has a 400mhz processor, it is slower than the Sprint Mogul, and in their informal tests, it took the phone a full minute to load their website, while it only took the Mogul 20 seconds. They are also reporting that it takes a full 3.5 seconds to change the display from Portrait to Landscape, while it takes the Mogul and the 8525 a mere second.

“This same slowness can be seen when comparing the two’s browsing speeds when viewing Gizmodo.com. It took the Tilt more than a minute to download the entire page, whereas the Mogul got everything in about 20. After it was done downloading, the page took forever to scroll up/down/left/right, and was on the verge of being unusable. In comparison, the Mogul scrolled pages just fine without much delay.”

Kinda sucks, but I’m going to have to get my mitts on this device to see for myself if its slowness is acceptable.
